Edge of London Scriptwriters

is a collective of stage, TV, radio and film writers working together to achieve sale/production of our material.

We've been established for three years and generally meet once or twice a month at the Charles Cryer Theatre, Carshalton.

The purpose of the Cryer evenings is to air new material, preferably by having it performed (script in hand) by some of our actors.

Although it's always good to hear from writers working on new projects, we're equally keen to hear from actors (pro or experienced non-pro).  A script, by its nature, is written to be performed and only by doing so can it be properly assessed.  Our actors get to work with brand new material and in doing so help shape its development - material that often goes into production.

We normally inhabit the Cryer's rehearsal room but we're able to use the Studio itself when it's free.  (See also Actors Together)

EoL is totally independent and as such we have to hire the space at the Cryer.  To help cover this cost, there's a flat entry fee of £3 per visit, whether writer, actor or spectator.  (This doesn't apply to actors cast in a production, attending rehearsals).

Please get in contact if you're interested in what we do.
