I began working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in 1998, when I took up a post managing a counselling service in Edinburgh. I left there in 2005 to become manager for a mental health project providing a range of services to adults who had experienced childhood sexual abuse, and I also set up my private practice at this time. In addition to my paid work I have enjoyed my past voluntary experience with a telephone helpline, a sexual health project, and an organisation providing counselling to young gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.
I have experience of working with a very diverse range of clients, including: survivors of trauma, abuse and violence; couples; individuals; lesbian, gay, and bisexual people; transgendered people; people experiencing sexual problems; and Black and minority ethnic people. And I work with a wide range of issues. I'd be happy to meet for an initial appointment so you can see whether I'm the right counsellor for you.
When I'm not counselling or teaching, I enjoy photography, cinema, reading, catching up with friends, and walking.
