Thanks for the post. I'm currently working on a new 'techniques' feature for the site. One of these will be how to portion up a chicken as it's really easy and is a great thing to do. Next time you're in a supermarket or butchers, compare the cost of a whole chicken with the cost of two chicken breasts. By buying the chicken and doing it yourself, you get 2 breasts, legs, & wings. Much better value! You can also us the bones to make chicken stock if you really want, meaning that literally every part of the bird would be used!
