Plummer Badge by Paul Martin - written 10/07/2012 16:45:16
I have acquired what I believe to be a marksmanship badge styled the "Plummer Badge". It is hallmarked sterling silver suspended from an engraved clasp by a solid green (rifleman green?) ribbon. It is in excellent condition. The obverse is hand engraved with a Maltese cross, and the monogram VBR under an Edwardian crown inside an engraved wreath.  All this is within a raised wreath that was struck with the metal planchet.  The reverse is hand engraved  "PLUMMER BADGE 1908 WON BY 2nd LIEUT. A. C. HOBBLE.  I believe "Plummer" to be in reference to Scott Plummer of the Roxburgh and Selkirkshire Rifle Volunteers.  Unfortunately I can find no other information about Plummer, Hobble, or this badge.  Any information would be appreciated. A photo of the badge is available upon request.
