Hi.

I am a Type 1 Diabetic and have been for all my life basically 36 years. I am currently seen at High Wycombe General Hospital which I have found excellent. Approx 2 months ago my doctor put me forward to go on a Medtronic Paradigm 722 Insulin Pump which would be funded by my local PCT due to the fact that I meet the "NICE" criteria/guidelines. The problem is that Berkshire PCT are still dragging their heels and not signing off the payment to Medtronic - Typical. I have contacted my local MP Theresa May who is going to see what the problem is and why it is taking so long. One of my freinds was also put forward for a pump but lives in Buckinghamshire (Basically 2 miles away from me) and received his pump within 2 weeks.

I have never been on an insulin pump so it is quite scarey to be honest but I am looking forward to getting it and inproving my blood sugars.

I am very interested to hear from any Diabetics who have the Medtronic Insulin Pump or the Animas 2020 Pump which also looks excellent.
