Mike

With my Midge I started off by fitting the lighter springs made for kit cars from Moss, far to soft and had to fit two inch spaces to get the ride height right, then a few years later went back to the MK 4 Spitfire spring and the ride height is just right, it depends on the weight of the car.

When I had mine on the weigh bridge it came out at 860KG with the orignal car weighing 740KG goes to show that I went the wrong way in the first place.

I seem to remember that they were rear dolly springs, lighter than the herald, to compensate for the lighter body.

Evening all, I'm looking for info about the recommended Dolomite coil springs. As I'm  re-building a Midge not built originally by myself, I have no idea what springs are fitted. I've searched the Dolomite owners website but am still confused as there seems to be so many conflicting views. Has anyone any info re sizes of Dolly springs?  Mine measure 312mm long, 91.5mm OD, 11.3mm wire dia, 9 1/2 coils. According to the manual all these sizes correspond to the standard 13/60 springs except for the OD which should be79.5mm  Any clues folks?  TTFN, Mike.
