Who is a professional legal adviser for the purposes of LPP by Lynn Wyeth - written 28/04/2010 09:19:26

Under s42 where the ICO says 'A professional legal adviser for the purposes of LPP could be a solicitor, barrister, licensed conveyancer or a legal executive holding professional qualifications recognised by the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX). It makes no difference whether the legal adviser is an external lawyer or a professional in-house lawyer employed by the public authority itself.'

Would you class someone who completes the Masters in Information Rights at Northumbria as a professional legal adviser for the purposes of LPP? Would achieving the diploma part of this qualification also qualify?

Thanks
