Hi Wayne
The police are subject to FOI just like other public authorities. If
the information is still held you can make an FOI request for it.
However the police have a number of exemptions they may be able to
claim depending on the circumstances and prejudicial effects of
disclosure - Section 30 (investigations and proceedings) and section 31
(law enforcement).

Hi
In 1976 scotland yard investigated the alleged involvement of 10 british mercenaries in attrocities in Angola. No one was ever charged with any crime in Angola But a few were arrested on outstanding warrants in the uk. My question is under the freedom of information act would the results of the investigation be available to the public? As you may have guessed i am not involved in law but am doing research and would like to get the above information
Many thanks
Wayne
