Ill try and describe it, when i stroke my face on my madonna piercing you can feel the ball, no problem, but at the bottom piercing, i rub it and u can only feel it a little bit, Its like made a home a little grove in my lip. so when i clean it its like the ball has nesstled in my lip. You prob wont understand haha, but it done with a long bar, compared to what i have in my madonna, and its gota small ball with a crystal in it. Its not to bad today actually, I know its lymph thats comin out my lip, and the swelling isnt to bad, Ive been cleaning it and using mouth wash etc. Thanks for all your help!! I know where to come if i have future problems!! xxx

Well it sounds to me like you have been pierced with a labret that is far too short. We pierce with longer bars to allow for the initial swelling and change down after 2-3 weeks. The initial discomfort should only last a couple of days, if it is still so painful now then there is something wrong. Did the bar fit snugly straight after you were pierced? What colour is the discharge from the piercing?

Im not from blackburn, Im from Lancaster. I came to blackburn last week to visit friends and wanted to go back with somethin different, So got my lip pierced at Zodiac i think its called the one near the lifts. I wont be in blackburn for another 7 wees now. Uni and all that grrr. Dont wanna look like ive had lip implants for too long haha. Got mouth wash (Listerine) and doing salt soaks with tea tree in it, Its not too bad today, woke up this morning and the ball was imbedded on my lip, so ushed it out from behind. I dont know if to take it out or leave it! Ive had so many piercings 25 so far and by far this one is the most painful one! Well at the min anyway haha. Cheers. p.s some of the piercings in the albums are ace!! I feel sorry for the bloke with that piercing through his "Bits" and the implants i think i know where they are OWCH!!! haha. Charley xx

Hey Charley, swelling normally goes down pretty quick, but it varies from person to person. Suck on some icecubes and take some ibuprofen if you are suffering, this will help. Did we pierce you?

If you are worried pop in and I'll take a look at it for you.

Got a lip piercing and its soooo sore! Had it done on tuesday, and want to know what the normal things are. E.G swelling etc, Its swollen and, The ball is touching my lip and the inside is touchin the inside of my lip. Bloody annoying, Its the bottom left side! Driving me crazy.
