2nd March is the NEW DATE for the "Anatomy of Figure Drawing" (full details under old date of 19th January)

As the blurb from the OLD DATE (19th Jan) is no longer "on line", this is more or less what I said, first time around!
Date: Tuesday 2nd March 2010
Place: 12 The Parade, Barry, CF62 6SD (my home and studio)
Time:  7-9pm
Format: First a presentation, then some practical work.
Numbers:  8 max (down from 15, to allow for practical work, adopted following enquiries)
Travel: 1) Train: put postcode into multimap and see how very close the house is to Barry station (Broad Street).
Nearer the date, I'll circulate all those interested with the names of fellow participants to ease the process of car sharing.
Blurb: This introduces a daily drawing routine which I first adopted in response to a presentation given in a Ballet Company's educational outreach programme. In this, a ballet dancer demostrated her daily exercise routine. I was astonished at the discipline in skills practice that had no equivalent in my own studio work. I began to make four drawings a day in order to develop fluency in drawing the human figure from imagination, and though not practised continuously, I have returned to the routine at intervals ever since: anatomical diagram, old master, Muybridge & free drawing from the imagination. Evidence will be presented of creative cross-fertisation between these separate exercises.
