Your confidence in the DHR is an expression of your faith in man - his essential goodness and ability to define what is right. Your religious zeal, which is no doubt sincere, does seem to lead to intolerance.  Why is believing homosexual practice is wrong and saying so an infringement of human rights?  Do Christians have any human rights to say what they believe in your view?  You seem intolerant of anyone who believes there is an authority above man and therefore you wish to impose your brand of humanism on Christians.

On the question of the authority of governments, are you not confusing the source of authority with the mode of appointment?  One of the finest defences of the rights of the people was 'Lex Rex' by Sammuel Rutherford (1660-61) a Scottish Covenanter Presbyterian minister.

"Where do you consider Caleb or those who preach the Biblical teaching aginst homosexual practice to be in breach of your statement of faith?" To play your game of answering a question with a question: Why do you insist on identifying positions divergent from your own with attributes characteristic of your own? By which I mean calling them "faith" positions. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is not a statement of faith. The clue is in the title. Your position is in complete contravention of Article 20 - both parts. It is also in contravention of Article 1, from which all the rest flow, which states: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." You believe that humans are born not free and equal in dignity, but bound for hell and "total depravity", do you not? I've never met a Caleb member personally, but your campaign is far from "brotherly" either. You would contravene the rights in Article 2. You would contravene the rights set out in Articles 3 & 5. Given half a chance, you'd probably make homosexuality illegal, in contravention of Article 7. You have no regard whatsoever for Article 18 and 19, yet you exploit them flagrantly. Your position contravenes Article 21(3): "The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures." - You hold, so you've said in a public statement, that you believe your god gives governments their authority, not people. You would be in contravention of Article 22. You would, and I'm sorry that this is harsh, but it's true, by your ignorance, corrupt the spirit and intention set forth in Article 26. You would probably obliterate the "cultural life of the community" which Article 27 seeks to both protect and encourage involvement in. Of Article 29(1): Your duty, you say, is to your god. (2) You would seek to have on your own terms, rather than for the greater good. And as such, you would have difficulty in not breaking (3). And you wouldn't have a hope of living in accordance with Article 30.
