Frederick was my uncle, obviously I never knew him, but my farther Wilfred was his younger brother.

He was born and grew up in Elmstead Market near Colchester Essex . I don't know when he joined up but he was injured earlier in the war with, I believe, a bullet in his head. He then rejoined his regiment and died of wounds shortly before the end of the war. He is buried in a cemetery at St Sever near Rouen.

I have his war medal and the telegrams sent to his parents informing them of his injuries and then his death.

I have visited his grave.
