I'm researching this family who lived at Ardtur around 1904-1945. I am interested in ANY recollections or details (good, bad or indifferent), particularly regarding:
- Helene Russell-Fergusson (my grandmother) who was very interested in farming, particularly pigs
- Her daughter, Heloise Russell-Fergusson (1896-1970), sometimes known as Madam Scotia or (during WW2) Madam Scrap who was a clarsach player and performed all over the world
- A 'butler' called Gllies Crichton and a secretary called Margaret Glendinning, both worked at Ardtur and both went to Zimbabwe with Helene when she emigrated there to farm in the late 1930s
I will be in Appin on 11th & 12th March (next week) and pleased to meet anyone with information. Very many thanks.
