My page layout look different on the web to how it looks in Creative mode

Designing web pages can be tricky and sometimes they will not appear online as you expect.

This is partly due to the nature of web design and partly due to the way different web browsers display web pages. A page on Internet Explorer may not look exactly as it does in Firefox - this is the same for all websites and not just for those created using Takeaway Website. Here's a few things to bear in mind:

  1. Avoid using the spacebar multiple times to arrange your page as required. This does not work well and confuses the page layout.
  2. Use tables to lay out your page - they provide a more rigid structure to your web page and give you more control over the final result.
  3. Sometimes the space may be too big when you hit <enter>. To avoid this hold down the SHIFT key as you hit <enter>. This will start a new line, not a whole new paragraph.
