This may be because you have copy and pasted text from Microsoft Word. Unfortunately, Word tends to insert hidden computer code (HTML code) into text which, when pasted into your web page can negatively affect the layout and cause some internet browsers, such as Internet Explorer, to crash and produce an error.
Please do not cut and paste from Word straight into your website. Instead, cut from Word and then paste into Notepad (which is installed on every PC) or TextEdit (which is installed on every Mac) first. Notepad or TextEdit will remove all Word's hidden code. You can then cut and paste your text from Notepad or TextEdit into your website with no problems at all.
Alternatively, if you would like to clean up this HTML code from the text in your current pages, please go to 'Change Content' from the Main Options and select the page you wish to edit. Change the level in the 'Change Level' drop down list in the top right hand corner of the page to 'Creative Mode'. In the paint box, some icons will appear rather like Microsoft Word icons - in the second row you will see one that looks like a paint brush. This is the 'Clean Up HTML' button. Click on this button and select the options 'Remove all word specific mark up', 'Clean up <Font> tags' and 'Clean up <Span> tags'. Your text should now be clean. However, you may lose some of the original formatting but you will be able to reformat this again.
If your page continues to crash when you try to clean up this HTML code, your web browser may be unable to process the amount of text and code that your copied word document has created. To clean up this code, you will need to use the web browser, Firefox. You can download Firefox for free at www.getfirefox.com Simply download, install and run Firefox as your default browser, then try to clean your code up again.
