Church Lane Opening c1954 - Click for more info

Church Lane Rushall was finally given a proper road surface in the early 1950's. Having previously been a track.

Here we see the moment the ribbon was cut and the new road surface was officially opened and blessed. There must be people who can identify this crowd, as it must be nearly the entire village back then!

So far identified are the young Rev McCARTNEY, members of the WOOKEY, LEWIS, PERRY, NOYES, MEADS, SWATTON and BLACKMAN families are also present amongst what one assumes would have been a very large percentage of  the entire villages population at the time.

Once again - if you can identify anyone from other local families in the picture please let me know at admin@rushall.org.uk
